Cicily and Michelle Attend Financial Planning Association Retreat
In a spirit of openness and sharing, professional financial planners from across the nation gathered for The Financial Planning Association’s Retreat May 31-June 4, 2008 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. To foster an intimate setting, registration was limited to 500 of the top financial planners. Cicily and Michelle Maton were honored to be among the invitees.
This annual four-day retreat is considered one of the best forums for advanced planners, connecting the “who’s who” of the financial profession. The event offers planners the opportunity to discover the best that financial planning has to offer. It is but one of a series of educational events Cicily and Michelle attend each year to update and broaden their financial planning expertise.
As a part of their ongoing process of personal and professional development, Cicily and Michelle attended a variety of discussions and study groups. Among the many noteworthy sessions was one attended by Cicily on “The Quest for Money and Meaning” by Jacob Needleman. Mr. Needleman is a professor of philosophy at San Francisco University and the author of many books, including Money and the Meaning of Life.
Michelle enjoyed a session on “Globalization” by Gregory C. Dahl, an author, economist, and ex-official of the International Monetary Fund. It focused on how the economies of the world are becoming much more interconnected, and gave planners a clearer understanding of the forces shaping global society and the financial markets. Cicily and Michelle left the retreat with a new perspective on the world’s ever-changing financial trends, and an improved ability to advise clients about potentially tumultuous events in the global financial markets.
